ECO was only too happy to be a sponsor of the inaugural “Game On” Community Active Holiday Event.
The event was a runaway success with over 50 children ranging from 6 years to 17 years in attendance and representing schools such as Kaitaia College, Kaitaia Intermediate, Kaitaia Primary, Te Rangi Aniwaniwa, Abundant Life and Ahipara Primary.
The event which was delivered by several Organisations and Local Clubs saw the kids participate in Turbo Touch, Basketball and Tennis activities.
Local facilitator Perry Hanara said, “You know you have put on a great day when the children ask if it’s going to be on again next week.”
The objective of the event was to not only engage local kids with activity but to encourage being active.
The kids had an awesome time, enjoyed a BBQ afterwards and the really cool spot prizes went down well too.
They hope to deliver this program during the next school holidays.
Other Sponsors if this event were Foundation North, Kaitaia Police, Northland Basketball, ACC, Sport Northland, Turbo Touch, Tennis NZ, AWHI, Shine on Kaitaia, Kaitaia Tennis Club and Touch NZ.
